From its foundations, dim sum is about connection – sharing and connecting over tasty food and hot tea. The term dim sum is often translated as “a little touch of heart”. That is the essence of what we do and who we are. Sharing a touch of heart with the community around us.

Kam Wai has been a part of the evolving face of Chinatown since we opened our doors in 1991 on Gore St. A lot has changed in the neighbourhood since then, and we’ve changed with it; but the importance of food, family and connection remain a central part of who we are as a family-run company. Family takes on many shapes and sizes but all of us can connect over a warm, delicious meal.

I’ve tried a bunch of different dim sum but always come back to kam wai. I recommend the bbq pork buns and the sesame balls. Great value for good freshly made dimsum right in the back. A staple of chinatown.Posted on Andrew Chan9 November 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A hidden gem! The service was super friendly, and the shrimp dim sum (Ha How) (only $5 for 4!) tasted incredibly authentic. You absolutely must try the Dai Bao (the king of steamed buns) – it's amazing. Highly recommended!Posted on Xavier L8 November 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. 抵食夾大件 🤤Posted on Anthony B7 November 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
